Fort Yukon is situated 8 miles north of the Arctic Circle on the Yukon River. There are roughly 800 inhabitants in the village, predominantly Athabascan Indians, many of whom are of the Gwich' in Indian Tribe. They pride themselves in living a subsistence lifestyle, off the land and the river. Fort Yukon is accessible by air and  boat only, making it one of Alaska's unique destinations.

We will fly you North over the small Crazy Mountain Range, and then over the Vast Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge and Birch Creek until we reach the Mighty Yukon River where we will land in Fort Yukon for an hour or longer of pure cultural adventure. 

Watch for Moose and Bear on your route while enjoying scenic views of long past riverbeds painting designs as they swirl across the flats. See the home of the Majestic Trumpeter Swan, and the Beaver as we over fly miles of wetlands in the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge.

The tour is also available in wintertime and July is the best time to view the Subsistence Salmon fishing activities.
